Called to Compassion

Stitches

Compassion interrupts. Compassion costs. Compassion also changes lives. True, Christ-like compassion demands action. To say that we care and not act is to not care at all. Caring draws us closer to Christ, which increases our capacity to care. What matters to him, matters to us. Are you looking for opportunities to show compassion? Can you see the possibilities?

From Series: "Stitches"

A "stitch" is both a thing and an action. We are stitched together by what we experience, what we are given, by who we are, and by whose we are. As a church, we are stitched together by our beliefs, and by what inspires us. But ultimately, as the Holy Spirit works in and out of us, holiness shows through our lives as we pursue God's vision and purpose. He is the thread--the stitch (noun) and the one who does the stitching (verb)--pulling together, holding together, and uniting.
