The word apostle means "one who was sent." Jesus identified as an apostle--He was sent by the Father. And now, in the same way, he's sending his disciples. The apostles. US.
After the resurrection, Jesus was physically present on earth for 40 days before the Ascension, and meets with the disciples several times during this period of time. What did He say? What did He emphasize? John 20:21 says, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." So over the next 5 weeks, we will explore what it means to be sent.
